This brief provides the first comprehensive account of the ILO’s application of the MSD approach in operational practice since it was first used by the ILO’s Enter-Growth project in Sri Lanka from 2005 to 2009. The Enabling Environment for Sustainable Enterprises in Suriname

| Under Suriname’s second Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) and in collaboration with the ILO, the tripartite constituents are working together to improve the national business landscape and increase productivity. The DWCP Monitoring Committee and invited experts gathered virtually on 24 May and 15 June 2021 to validate the findings of the country’s 2019 Enabling Environment for Sustainable Enterprise (EESE) Assessment, discuss and agree on priorities to inform the development of national action plans to advance the most important factors to enable sustainable enterprise development and productivity. Market Based Livelihood Interventions for Refugees and Host Communities
This training course introduces practitioners working with refugee communities to assessing markets and identifying areas for market interventions. The training has been developed by the ILO and the UNHCR as a response to a lack of a specialised training on market-based livelihood interventions for refugees. It is based on the “Making markets work for the poor” (M4P) approach and disseminates tools and good practices learnt from ILO-UNHCR collaboration as well as from ILO projects implementing the approach in different countries.
