“Come Safely, Not Quickly” Campaign
 

The Delivery Sector Social Dialogue Meeting was held in İstanbul within the framework of the "Come Safely, Not Quickly" campaign, which is implemented for the safety of motorcycle-couriers by ILO Office for Turkey and İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality. At the meeting, also attended by Numan Özcan, the Director of the ILO Office for Turkey, the problems of the motorcycle-couriers and proposals for multilateral solutions were discussed.

Infrastructure built through “Opportunities for Lives Project” brings ISO certification and a brand
 

Through collaborative work with the ILO Office for Turkey, Konya Chamber of Furniture Manufacturers earned ISO Certification for Occupational Safety and Health Management System and established a brand name for wooden toys based on the infrastructure built by the Project.

Greater investment in care could create almost 300 million jobs

16,770 beneficiaries to access social security with the partnership of the ILO and SSI
 

The ILO Office for Turkey and Social Security Institution have agreed to extend their partnership to jointly support additional 5,570 employees to access social protection through Transition to Formality Programme, known as KİGEP. The resources to be transferred in this context by the ILO have reached a total of 159 million TRY.

ILO’s efforts to combat informality intensify with 3 new Information Centers opened in Şanlıurfa, Adana and Konya
 

Three new Information Centers, locally known as BİLMERs, have been established within Şanlıurfa, Adana and Konya Unions of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen (ESOB) to support formalization as part of the "Promoting Decent Works for Syrians under Temporary Protection and Turkish Citizens Project" implemented by the ILO Office for Turkey.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have published a new guide on developing and implementing stronger occupational health and safety programmes for health workers. The joint publication encourages countries to strengthen the protection of health workers by improving the management of occupational health and safety.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) have published a new technical brief on healthy and safe teleworking, and outlined the health benefits and risks of teleworking, calling for measures to be put in place to protect workers.
