Latest news from the ILO on cooperatives and the wider social and solidarity economy: April 2022

The Office Report on “Decent Work and the social and solidarity economy”, that will be discussed during the 110th International Labour Conference, is now available in Arabic, Chinese and Russian
 
In addition to English, French, German and Spanish, the Report of the Office on “Decent work and the Social and Solid­­arity Economy” is now available in Arabic, Chinese, and Russian. The report will form the basis, along with a set of points for discussion, for the general discussion at the committee on decent work and the SSE during 110th International Labour Conference. Additional languages including Hindi, Indonesian Bahasa, Italian, Japanese, Mongolian, Portuguese, Tagalog and Turkish will follow shortly.

During the session, cooperative leaders from the Americas reflected on the relevance of Recommendation 193 to advance the values of cooperativism in the region. Voices is the International Labour Organization’s multimedia storytelling platform that highlights first-person stories of people at the heart of the world of work. This Voices edition tells the story of Briseida Venegas Ramos a young Mexican woman coffee farmer from the Ixhuatlán coffee community in Veracruz. She is the president of an agricultural cooperative - the Cooperativa Campesinos en Lucha Agraria of the Vida AC organization. More

Call for expression of interest – national consultants for producing a mapping study on the Social and Solidarity Economy in Asia
 
As part of the second phase of the project on strengthening the SSE in Asia, the ILO is looking for national consultants with subject and language expertise to undertake a mapping the Social and Solidarity Economy landscape in six countries in Asia.  Details relating to the expected deliverables are available in the calls for Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Thailand and Vietnam.
