ILO Helpdesk for Business: more than 1.5 million users, reaching 3 million page views
 
The number of users of the ILO Helpdesk for Business website have significantly increased for a fourth consecutive year. The average number of visits is 54 481 per month for the period from March 2021 to February 2022. This represents an increase of 49% compared to last year. More than 1.5 million users have now consulted the ILO Helpdesk for Business web site since its launch in 2010. The web site is now fast approaching 3 million page views. 
The ILO Helpdesk for Business has answered 1 558 individual queries since its creation. Occupational Safety and Health-related questions continued to be the most frequent. The Q&A web pages are among the most consulted pages of the Helpdesk website.

The ILO joined Cooperatives of the Americas to mark the 20th anniversary of Recommendation 193 and to share highlights of the discussion on decent work and the social and solidarity economy at the 110th International Labor Conference
 
During the session, cooperative leaders from the Americas reflected on the relevance of Recommendation 193 to advance the values of cooperativism in the region. They also reflected on what the upcoming general discussion on decent work and the social and solidarity economy that will take place at the 110th International Labour Conference mean for the cooperative movement in the region and globally.

Call for consultant: Supply and demand of financial services for agricultural value chains in Sierra Leone

We are looking for a consultant to update and complement a review of Sierra Leone’s financial services sector. The review focuses on internal and external value chain finance and will build on earlier ILO assessments in 2017 and 2020. The review will include a mapping of existing approaches, gaps and potential entry points for the financial sector in the agricultural value chain as well as identifying potential actors in agricultural value chains that would benefit from it.
 
Call for trainers in financial education in Jordan and the Philippines

We are looking for trainers based in Jordan and the Philippines to participate in two trainings of trainers (ToT) next month. The first ToT will be delivered online to candidate national trainers working towards the development and the digitization of MSMEs in the Philippines throughout next month. The objective is to train trainers who can deliver online trainings to MSMEs on how to use traditional and digital financial services for their businesses. The second ToT will happen face-to-face in Jordan from 15 to 19 May, and should gather participants interested in training Jordanian and migrant workers in garment factories about financial education and good money management while living abroad. 
 
Call for expression of interest – national consultants for producing a mapping study on the Social and Solidarity Economy in Asia
As part of the second phase of the project on strengthening the SSE in Asia, the ILO is looking for national consultants with subject and language expertise to undertake a mapping the Social and Solidarity Economy landscape in six countries in Asia.  Details relating to the expected deliverables are available in the calls for Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Thailand and Vietnam. The deadline to submit expressions of interest is May 13, 2022.

Together with the Financial Services Institute (linked to the Financial Regulatory Authority of Egypt), we will offer an online training on “Make change happen: Getting insurers ready to serve low income and emerging markets”, on 17 and 18 May. This training will equip you with a detailed framework for change management to serve new markets, as well as lessons and insights from institutions that have already gone through the process. While the training is focused on the Egyptian market, it is open to anyone interested in the topic.

Productivity Ecosystems for Decent Work: A course for policy-makers and practitioners
This training course aims to enhance the skills of policy-makers and practitioners in assessing and designing policies to improve productivity and working conditions in SMEs. Multinational enterprises, development and decent work: the approach of the MNE Declaration
This 4-week online course looks at the potential of enterprises to contribute to the achievement of decent work for all, a universal goal recognized in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It provides a comprehensive introduction the ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (MNE Declaration), and touches upon issues related to Business and International Labour Standards, Responsible Business Conduct (RBC), Human Right Due Diligence and social dialogue amongst others.
