Our partner Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) has published a brand new compendium, highlighting ways to improve the provision of insurance for MSMEs in a number of countries. Social Finance is glad to collaborate with GIZ on a number of capacity-building initiatives, such as our training on “Insurance for small and medium enterprises” that we have been delivering a number of times in Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Nigeria, the Philippines and Uganda.

Promoting workers’ well-being and sustainable enterprises through digital wage payments in Jordan and Egypt
 
Earlier this month, our Global Centre on Digital Wages for Decent Work, the Better Than Cash Alliance, Better Work and BSR organized an online event, focussing on how responsible digital wage payments can contribute to workers’ empowerment, financial inclusion, and sustainable enterprises. We heard about good practices in the garment industry in Jordan and Egypt to transitioning to responsible digital wages through the framework of the UN Principles for Responsible Digital Payments. A recording of the event is now available in English.

Call for a national consultant to evaluate and make recommendations on the Guidelines concerning Statistics of Cooperatives in Costa Rica
ILO is inviting a call for applications for a national consultant (NC) as part of an initiative on to study the applicability of the international Guidelines concerning statistics of Cooperatives to the national context. The NC will be expected to produce a country report and a brief based on the report. The deadline to submit expressions of interest with CV (in English) and a cover letter (no more than 400 words, in English) is April 7, 2022.

It provides a comprehensive introduction the ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (MNE Declaration), and touches upon issues related to Business and International Labour Standards, Responsible Business Conduct (RBC), Human Right Due Diligence and social dialogue amongst others.
